Pearl Jam and Cameron Crowe are coming together to bring us the Pearl Jam-centric documentary, Twenty. Both Crowe and Pearl Jam have been major influences on the last few decades of pop culture; Crowe with his brilliant movies: Say Anything, Jerry Maguire, Almost Famous, etc. (all accompanied by just as brilliant soundtracks) and Pearl Jam with their prolific albums: Ten, Vs., Vitalogy, Yield, etc. Take a look at what happens when they combine their super powers:

The 27 Club: Amy Winehouse

As most have heard by now, Amy Winehouse passed away at the age of 27 yesterday. While the news of her death was tragic enough, the addition of her final age made it seem even worse. Joining other musicians who passed away at the age of 27, musicians such as Kurt Cobain, Jimmy Hendrix, Janice Joplin among others; Winehouse's death seems to have more weight. Especially given that drugs and alcohol were involved so heavily in her life. Tom Payne, over at HuffingtonPost.com, had something to say about this: Dead at 27; But the Number Tells Us Almost Nothing About Amy Winehouse the Artist
FALL TV PREVIEW: The Secret Circle
Based on the books by the author of The Vampire Diaries, The Secret Circle brings the main focus around to witches, but not so much in a Charmed kind of way. This show is sexier and darker. Bringing together Britt Robertson (Life Unexpected), Gale Harold (Hellcats), Natasha Henstridge (Eli Stone), Thomas Dekker (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles), among others... needless to say the cast is not too shabby.
The "Secret Circle" series follows 16-year-old Cassie, who moves from California to live with her mom in New Salem and falls in love with a mysterious boy named Adam. But, when she enrolls in high school there, she realizes that he, she and all the other elite students at the school are witches! She befriends their leader, Diana, but soon discovers that Adam and Diana are dating, which leads to a whole bunch of complicated drama. [IMDB.com]
So are you ready to add The Secret Circle to your guilty pleasures list this fall?

source
Promotional photos of the cast of Snow White and the Huntsman were released at Comic-Con this week. These stunning images show off Charlize Theron as the Queen, Chris Hemsworth as the Huntsman, Sam Clafin as Prince Charming and of course, the Twilight wonder herself, Kristen Stewart as a pretty bad-ass looking Snow White.

Borders Bankruptcy in a Nutshell

Borders was the coolest hangout in the late 90's, early 2000's. Drinking coffee from a real mug while sitting in a cushy chair, hanging out with friends and employees, listening to all kinds of music and reading books you're thinking about possibly buying except you won't... come to think of it they did make it impossibly easy for people to NOT buy books. In way, Borders was one cool library. We'll miss you Borders... you were a great giant once upon a time and we're sad to see you go.

Martin Scorsese Directs Fantastical Family Friendly Film: Hugo
With a tag line like "unlock the secret" you probably thought this might be a self-help movie helmed by Oprah, but you'd be wrong. Directed by the "All Mighty of Film" himself, Martin Scorsese takes on movie that 1) doesn't include Leonardo DiCaprio and 2) is family friendly. Shocking? A little.
Releasing in November, Hugo is made up of an ensemble cast starring Jude Law, Sacha Baron Cohen, Ben Kingsley, Ray Winstone and many others. "Set in 1930s Paris, an orphan who lives in the walls of a train station is wrapped up in a mystery involving his late father and an automaton." [IMDB.com]

Stranger Than Fiction: The Chameleon

If you could change everything about you on a whim and pretend to be something you're not day in and day out, would you? Would you change your voice or pretend to be much much younger or older than you are? Would you sit down and map out a history, family or lack there of, a voice, a language, an accent, gestures and everything else that makes us recognizable? As an actor people do this everyday, it's what they get paid for. As a conman looking for money, this also might be an easy stretch. But for most of us, even the idea of playing in the land of make-believe all day long, every day, seems entirely too exhausting.
Not so much for Frédéric Bourdin, a french man who had been conning people almost his entire life. Better known to some as The Chameleon, Bourdin didn't just pretend to be someone else, he almost entirely became someone else. Known mostly for impersonating children and youth even up through his 30's, Bourdin proved to be the master of disguise. And much like the film Catch Me If You Can, Bourdin fooled everyone... up to a point. But unlike the characters in most movies and novels, Bourdin didn't do it to hide from the law and he certainly didn't do it for the money. No, Bourdin was the master of disguise because... well, he just wanted to be.

Bono from U2 Gives a Blind Fan a Big Break!
None of us like Bono all the time... he can sometimes seem pretentious and annoying. And lately we've had a good laugh at his Broadway effort, Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark, but this video might remind you why once upon a time U2 ruled the world (Joshua Tree is STILL one of the greatest albums of all time).
Watch as Bono and U2 give Adam, a blind U2 guitar playing fan, his big break during their concert. (AND he walks away with Bono's guitar as a gift - pretty awesome if you ask us!) We salute you Bono, thanks for reminding us why we're fans!

Doctor Who's David Tennant in Fright Night
Need a second look? Yep, that really is Doctor Who's David Tennant! If you've been missing out on the television phenomenon that is Doctor Who, you may not know who David Tennant is but for those of us in the know, Tennant was a favorite as the 10th Doctor in the overall run of the Doctor Who before handing the role over to the current incarnation of The Doctor, Matt Smith. And while Smith has been doing a fantastic job as the 11th Doctor, we're always on the lookout to see where Tennant ends up.
Alongside Colin Farrell, Anton Yelchin, Toni Collette, Dave Franco and Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Tennat will be bringing the chills in the upcoming remake of the classic, Fright Night. Charley (Yelchin) and his mom (Collette) live a fairly normal existence until Charley discovers his new neighbor (Farrell) is a vampire. Check out the trailer:
